      2004 Dove Awards were handed out on April 28, 2004 in Nashville, Tennesse.

      (rap / hip hop), Robert Randolph and the Family Band for Unclassified
      (urban) and The Born Again Church Choir (traditional). Winners in

      on Friday, April 16th, 2004. This gifted singer and writer recently
      recorded his first solo project Simply Roger on Melendo Music.
      Roger's presence will be missed but his music will forever remain in our

      Hobbs Recovering—  EMI
      Gospel artist Darwin Hobbs is recovering at home after a health
      scare on January 19, 2004, when he was rushed to hospital where he was
      informed that he was suffering from congestive heart failure. Doctors have
      reassured Hobbs that he is on the road to recovery, and that he should be
      able to continue to fulfill his daily schedule, including his music
      ministry. Hobbs is presently preparing for his next project, a live

      Gospel community mourns the passing of Gospel music pioneer Mother Anna
      Broy Crockett Ford, who went home to Glory on December 29, 2003. A
      woman of grace, elegance and dignity, her accomplishments include master
      choir director and trainer, singer and songwriter (one of her works is the
      standard "I Was Glad When They Said Unto Me"). Mother Ford was
      appointed by Bishop Charles H. Mason, founder of the Church of God
      in Christ, to assist in the organization of the music department and
      served as director of the National Choir until 1972 (when she was

      The Detroit-based Gospel Music Hall of Fame & Museum
      has officially changed its name to The International Gospel Music Hall of
      Fame & Museum, reflecting the entity's aim to expand activities.
      Members will now be inducted from around the world, including Africa,
      Japan, Canada and the Caribbean. There will also be a move towards
      international meetings and events to celebrate the progression of gospel
